This is unfortunate. For years, NFDA has shown the *average* cost of a full-service funeral. This year, for the first time, they’re showing the *median* cost. It just so happens that the median cost, $6,560, is less than their most recent historical *average* cost of around $7,350. People will surely be confused and assume funeral prices have gone down. Worse, the press release incorrectly labels the median cost as the “average” cost in its chart. Sloppy work, NFDA.
