green burial

I live in the State of Maryland and inherited a family plot in a memorial cemetery. How can I find out if I can have a green burial in that plot. Between the funeral homes and the cemetaries, a funeral can cost easily $15,000 – 20,000 I already have the plot which is worth $3200 (my dad in the 50’s paid $425 for four plots), but everthing else from opening and closing the grave, vault, casket, marker, that is not including the funeral home costs (approximately starting at $5,000 without a casket for one day of viewing). What a lucrative business this is. I absolutely under no circumstances want to be a part of it.
