On Monday, the California Attorney General’s Office announced suing one of the nation’s largest funeral trusts for allegedly illegally funds from prepaid funerals and accepting kickbacks.
Now the Funeral Directors Service Corp., which was named in connection to the suit, has responded.
“The attorney general is using a flawed state audit report to launch a lawsuit that appears strongly motivated by political grandstanding,” Mark Kuhn, president of the Funeral Directors Service Corp., said in a Wednesday statement. Kuhn also is named in the lawsuit.
