I’m currently re-reading The American Way of Death Revisited by Jessica Mitford. Actually I’m reading this version, released in 1998, for the first time. I read the original 1963 text back when I was contemplating mortuary school. I have had the same attitudes and opinions about death, dying, and the funeral industry since before I read Mitford. She reaffirmed what I believed with her text, and thirteen years in the industry has convinced me that I am absolutely right.
