Couple Pleads Guilty To Taking Prepaid Funeral Money
MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. — A judge concerned about 150 victims of prepaid funeral fraud postponed the sentences for a Detroit-area couple Thursday to give them more time to come up with money or other help for people who lost more than $300,000.
Authorities say $352,000 that was supposed to be held in escrow instead was spent by the couple. Police seized Lexus and Jaguar cars but haven’t revealed much more about how the money was used.
