Funeral home apologizes for mistake after urn is found
Richard Sgaglio of Brewster lost his mother twice — once when she died in February and again on Easter Sunday, he says, when he discovered the funeral home never interred her ashes.
It was the first holiday and his first visit to the cemetery in Putnam Valley since his mom passed away at 82. A blank spot on the marble panel behind which rested his father’s and, supposedly, his mother’s cremains, caught his eye.
“The date of death wasn’t on there,” he said.
