“Hippies” are the reason this option is even on the table. The people who courageously went up against the AMA in the late 60’s and brought back non-corporate home childbirth where the husband could be present , the mother was not tied down and her child was not pulled out by the head with metal forceps then hung upside and slapped -revolutioned Childbirth. Those same people revolutionized the food industry bringing back organic farming and non-corporate food and they are now , in their senior years bringing back natural burial. “Hippies” ( a word coined in 1967 by San Francisco journalist Herb Caen to name the young people refusing to fight the corporate war in Vietnam who grew their hair to recognize each other and stand apart for Peace) INVENTED the “GREEN” movement 40 years ago by recycling resources in this country, (a practice still coming around in alot of states). This same terrified Corporate media seeing that their post WW11 children were rejecting corporate waste and unnatural life set about on a media campaign to using words like “hippy-dippy” , “treehuggers” (and “nigger lovers” I might add) to turn into buffoons and clowns a very courageous group of social evangelists who stood up against very powerful forces to promote a natural , happy and healthy lifestyle: Whole Foods Stores , Yoga Studios , herbal medicine, acupuncture, and GREEN BURIAL are all apart of j the fruits of their sacrifice and struggle . So get schooled and learn your history & watch the “Hippy-dippy ” treehugger ” language and show some respect.
