At the end of the movie “The Descendants,” George Clooney and his two movie daughters paddle an outrigger canoe away from the Hawaiian beach and scatter the ashes of their recently deceased wife/mother into the blue ocean.
It’s touching. It’s symbolic. And it’s probably against the law.
