Would be concerned about church inurnmen

Would be concerned about church inurnments as a number of the of churches being closed seems to be growing across the country. Would be interesting to know what happens in such circumstances. In California, not only is this occurring , but even some district cemeteries are being abandoned and the State is very concerned about future upkeep and care of these grounds. Are these churches regulated as the cemeteries are as far as endowments etc.?
