My mother in Raleigh, NC was recently cremated. City of Oaks Cremation handled the arrangements and the funeral director suggested I work with my mother’s minister for the memorial service. I think we paid just under $1200 for everything. The funeral director was extremely helpful and I never felt pressured to spend a lot of money. The one thing my husband was impressed with; when the funeral director came to the house later that morning to have us sign some papers… he brought a half dozen donuts for us. 
