I was recently at a funeral/viewing of my stepbrother. He was waked a few days after his death and an autopsy. When I walked up to the casket, all I could smell was this overwhelming chemical smell. What was this smell and if it was embalming fluid, was it so strong because they didn’t do a good job? Because of lack of money, his loved ones used the cheapest funeral home available. Thanks so much for all of the amazing info here, it is invaluable.
