My sister and I were preparing to purchase a grave marker for our Mom, we called and got a price, saved the money for what was quoted to us. When we called the monument company to place the order the price had gone up by $200.00, so we saved $200.00 more dollars, called to place the order and the price had gone up again this time by $400.00. I then began searching online for a better price, called the cemetery and they said that they WOULD NOT except a grave marker that was not purchased through them. The funeral home, cemetery and the marker company are in business together. I was very angry by this point because we had found a marker for $500.00 less than the first quote and they said they would not except it once it was delivered. I researched this and found that The Federal Trade Commission had deemed this against the Fair Trade law. The Funeral Home is Roller Citizens, the cemetery is Sunset Memorial Gardens and the Marker company is Two states Marker Company all located in West Helena, AR. I called the company in which I wanted to place the order with for $500.00 cheaper and they said that they would get the paperwork signed for delivery before the marker went into production. Don’t fall for this ploy to get more money out of you, It is against the law.
