This site has been so informative to me. I actually visited our Cemetery office today for some answers to questions about a Mausoleum and I was so shocked. Over $4000.00 for one at the ceiling!!!! Since my Godfather passed in 2009 I have become overly interested in the whole process of what happens to your body and what is done after death. Although for years I said that “I didn’t want to be burned”, over the past few years I have started to feel differently. I would like my Urn to be kept with my Husband and my Children and Grandchildren to have keepsakes with some of my ashes in them. Is it possible that funeral homes, with the families permission, would let a person watch the embalming process and the cremation process? How does one find out if this would be allowed? I just want to know what is done after we are deceased in preparation for the burial/cremation.
