My mom passed away in Oct of 2012. I found some paperwork dating back to 1998 showing that the cemetery salesman sold her 4 items. A granite veterans side by side base since my dad served 22 years, a vase, her own bronze marker and a special plastic type burial vault made by Vantage company in Georgia. Turns out that 3 of the items were not what she bought. The base is an imitation plastic which they didn’t even anchor his marker down, there was no vase furnished. She paid the balance off in 4 months. I found the entombment form where they just used a standard #5 cement vault instead of the one she paid 945.00 for without any notifications to us. They claim that the cement vault is more expensive than the one she bought and don’t owe us any compensation??. I DON’T THINK SO. Those cement vaults are only about 350.00 back in 98. For all i know it’s not even the marker she picked out for herself as she was house bound and couldn’t verify what they provided. I have sent a letter to the cemetery requesting all the documents showing what my mom paid for. So far they have NEVER responded back to me on anything I’ve sent them. I have no problem taking this right into a court room. They just thought no one would of ever caught up to them is all. WRONG!!! To me it looks like a case of consumer Fraud. Lets see how a judge feels about this after I show him the original paperwork and my photos i took!
