Summer, 2021 upcoming workshops

Why Your Database Matters

When: Tuesday, August 3, 2021, 2 to 3 pm Eastern (11 am to 12 pm Pacific)
Where: Zoom

Your organization’s database is the list of people for whom you have contact information that are in support of your mission. Whether that list contains 50 people or a few thousand, and whether it’s on paper or in a digital format, your organization will benefit from creating a system to manage that list.

Join Amanda Stock from People’s Memorial Association on August 3rd at 11:00 am Pacific to learn why a Customer relationship management (CRM) system is the foundation to your organization’s success.

This class is for FCA affiliate volunteers and/or paid staff who don’t know anything about CRM systems but are looking to take advantage of the ways technology can make it easier to operate a successful memorial society. Amanda will share:

—What a CRM system is and why it matters;

—Options for creating a CRM system (this could be an Excel spreadsheet!) that works for your organization and it’s resources; and

—How you can use your CRM system to grow your organization.

Attendees will receive:

—An Excel spreadsheet template to move your paper records to a digital format; and

—A few suggestions for CRM software programs if your team is ready for it.

This class is the second of two classes offered by Amanda Stock with People’s Memorial Association. We highly recommend you attend the class on July 27th about building a website that works (for beginners!) or watching the recording if the date has passed.

*Go ahead and share your registration and login code with a second member of your FCA; no need to pay twice!

Build a Better Website

When: Tuesday, August 10, 2021, 2 to 3 pm Eastern (11 am to 12 pm Pacific)
Where: Zoom

In order for an organization to be successful it must have a modern website. Your website needs to be user-friendly, representative of your services, and updated often. It especially needs to be easy for your team of volunteers and/or staff to use so it can support you in running a successful organization.

Join Amanda Stock from People’s Memorial Association on August 10 from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm Pacific to learn how to build and maintain a website that works for both your community and for your team of volunteers or staff. There have been major advances in the world of website design tools (Content Management Systems or CMS) in the past few years making this process incredibly easy and affordable.

This class is for FCA affiliate volunteers and/or paid staff who don’t know anything about building websites but are looking to take advantage of the ways technology can make it easier to operate a successful organization. Amanda will share how you can:

—Create and manage a website using a Content Management System like WordPress;

—Gain control over your own website and avoid paying a web designer anytime you need to make an update;

—Automate administrative tasks and

—Ensure your website conveys the right message to your community.

We recommend that more than one person from your team joins us for this class because it’s critical that more than one person knows how to maintain the website.*

This class is the first of two classes offered by Amanda Stock with People’s Memorial Association. We highly recommend you join us for the second class on August 3rd at 11:00 am Pacific to learn why your member/supporter database matters and how you can use it to grow your organization.

*Go ahead and share your registration and login code with a second member of your FCA; no need to pay twice!
