Fifty years ago I became an active participant in the Continental Association of Funeral and Memorial Societies (CAFMS) currently known as Funeral Consumer Alliance (FCA). As an educator, I recognized this organization serves a valuable purpose in many communities.

I asked myself these two questions: Where can teachers, ministers, lawyers, health professionals, etc. get unbiased information about funerals and pricing (from a consumer point of view) to help counsel/teach their clientele? Where does the general public get this same unbiased information?

In my mind, volunteering at both the local and national levels was paramount to strengthening the FCA movement.

We accept that there are some organizations promoting consumer education relating to death. However, FCA is the only full-time organization with a dual purpose of educating consumers AND monitoring the funeral industry at all legislative levels.

Please support our FCA at both the local and national level - with your time and contributions, as I do. Thanks for taking time to read some of my thoughts.
